DESCRIPTION: A-H Stained Glass Floor System: A VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) Compliant, Colored Transparent Architectural Coating For Concrete, Masonry, Wood or Metal Surfaces to provide an Ultra High Gloss, Durable, Wear Resistant, Chemical Resistant Finish A-H
Stained Glass Floor System
is
a solvent based eight component system that forms a vibrant colored,
transparent, high gloss, film for concrete and masonry floors and walls as
well as high-service interior applications. It is tough and has excellent
resistance to wear, spillage, oils, grease, salts, chemicals and mild
acids. It is recommended for, but not limited to, shopping malls, stores,
showrooms, restaurants, nightclubs, schools, hospitals, hotels and
high-end residential applications. It is not recommended for areas with
excessive abrasion, exterior applications, or areas where there is a need
for slip resistance when wet. A-H
Stained Glass Floor System
offers a flexibility of appearance never seen before in a finish. A
designer and an installer working together have the possibility of
producing a particular or unique appearance for a project.
Anti-Hydro International’s sales force and technical department will
make themselves available to support in such efforts. A-H
Stained Glass Floor System is ultra violet (UV) stabilized
and is available in a wide range of colors to coordinate with most decors. SPECIFICATIONS: All
surfaces, as indicated on plans and finish schedules, shall be treated
with A-H
Stained Glass Floor System
as manufactured by Anti-Hydro International, Inc. in strict
accordance with manufacturer’s specifications. WARRANTY: Anti-Hydro
International warranties that A-H
Stained Glass Floor System is manufactured under strict quality
control and conforms to the requirements of this specification. Please
contact our main offices to receive a formal, written, Limited Material
Warranty. FLOOR
PREPARATION: NEW
CONCRETE FLOOR SLABS - SURFACE
PREPARATION: IMPORTANT
NOTE! A-H
Stained Glass Floor System
is a transparent material. Therefore the final appearance of the system is
substantially dependent on the type of substrate, and the method and
quality of surface preparation!
Anti-Hydro International does not specifically recommend a
particular technique nor does it discourage experimentation. It
is up to the installer and owner to determine what methods to use to
provide an acceptable finish to the building owner. All
surfaces must be structurally sound, hard, non-dusting, clean, completely
dry, and free of all oils, laitance. If the concrete is not sound hard and
non-dusting; then the bidder must contact Anti-Hydro International, Inc.
for directions for the repair of the concrete. Expansion joints and cracks
shall be routed out, cleaned and sealed with A-H
Groove & Crack Filler #250, A-H Crack Filler #131 or
a-h Polysealant “U”. Contaminated
base material shall be physically removed beyond the depth of
contamination. Sound, uncontaminated concrete surfaces must be cleaned by
soaking with a strong detergent, vigorous scrubbing and thorough flushing
with water. Oil or grease contaminated areas shall be chemically cleaned
completely, or removed and patched. Where
any doubt as to contamination exists, a test patch is recommended. New
concrete substrate shall be fully cured at least 28 days. Cure new
concrete with A-H Acuricon as per
Specification #6-1, or with water or plastic covering. Do not
“burnish” trowel finish concrete surfaces. Any
existing coatings, adhesives or curing compounds must be removed before
the application of A-H Stained Glass Floor System. Old concrete and densely troweled surfaces shall be
mechanically abraded or acid etched to give an open texture. The substrate
must be sufficiently profiled as to promote proper bonding. This may be
accomplished by acid etching, sanding, sandblasting, bead blasting,
grinding or terrazzo style grinding. All preparation must be done in
accordance with ASTM D4258. Before
initializing the installation of the A-H
Stained Glass Floor System substrates are to be tested for
vapor drive. A water vapor test, in strict accordance with ASTM D4263:
Standard Test Method for indicating Moisture in Concrete and a calcium
chloride desiccant test kit and must be made at a sufficient number of
places over the area of the concrete slab to determine the amount of water
vapor in the slab. This test is to be conducted by qualified and trained
personnel. If the test demonstrates
an unacceptable water vapor drive, steps to correct this condition must be
taken before A-H Stained Glass Floor System is installed. Concrete
Floors:
FIRST
COAT: A-H
Stained Glass Floor – PRIMER:
MIXING: All
mixing and application activities should be coordinated carefully. Since
the curing action between Part A and
Part B starts immediately, it
is important that all preparations are completed prior to mixing Part
A and Part B, so that the application can proceed expeditiously to
conclusion immediately after mixing. Use
clean and dry equipment that is free of lint, dust or other contamination.
Mixing should be accomplished with a slow speed drill and a “Jiffy”
type mixing blade or equivalent. Do not whip air into the mixture. Thoroughly
mix each part, Part A and Part
B, individually in its own container. Then mix together Part
A and Part B (in 1 : 1
ratio by volume) thoroughly until the mixture is uniform in consistency
and color (minimum 3 minutes). Allow the mixed material to stand for a
minimum of 5 minutes. Then re-mix for an additional 2 minutes and apply. APPLICATION: Apply
A-H Stained Glass Floor – PRIMER evenly over the surface with a clean, soft bristle
brush (carefully remove all loose bristles first) or by the “squeegee
and back roll” method using an appropriate squeegee and a lint free,
solvent resistant, short napped mohair roller.
Carefully
apply at a uniform rate of 200 square feet per gallon.
Avoid skips or holidays and back-roll the surface to even out the
coating. Keep in mind that because this is
a colored, transparent coating, variations
in application rate cause variations in depth of color! SECOND
COAT: A-H
Stained Glass Floor – PRIMER:
Once
tackiness has gone from the first coat of primer (it can be the same day
if it is warm and dry) you may proceed with the second coat of A-H
Stained Glass Floor – PRIMER. MIXING: Follow
the same instructions as stated above for the FIRST COAT. APPLICATION: Follow
the same instructions as stated above for the FIRST COAT. Installer
shall wear golf type shoes whenever walking on recently applied coating to
avoid damage to the previously applied material.
Allow
SECOND COAT to dry a minimum of 20 hours, but not more than 28 hours
before the application of the THIRD COAT. THIRD
COAT: A-H
Stained Glass Floor – COLOR COAT:
MIXING: A-H
Stained Glass Floor – COLOR COAT is a three (3) component
product.
All
mixing and application activities should be coordinated carefully. Since
the curing action between Part A,
Part B and Part C

that the application can proceed expeditiously to conclusion immediately
after mixing. Use
clean and dry equipment that is free of lint, dust or other contamination.
Mixing should be accomplished with a slow speed drill and a “Jiffy”
type mixing blade or equivalent. Do not whip air into the mixture. Thoroughly
mix each part, Part A, Part B and
Part C, individually in its
own container. Then mix together Part
A and Part B (in 2 : 1
ratio by volume) and mix for 1 minute. Add Part
C to the mixture and mix thoroughly until the mixture is uniform in
consistency and color (minimum 3 minutes).
Allow the mixed material to stand for a minimum of 5 minutes. Then
re-mix for an additional 2 minutes and apply. APPLICATION: Apply
A-H Stained Glass Floor – COLOR COAT evenly over the surface
with
a clean, soft bristle brush (carefully remove all loose bristles first) or
